Progressive and Expressive Photon Beams
Final group project for CS2240 Interactive Graphics grad seminar with John "Spike" Hughes at Brown University, Spring 2017. Group: Luci Cooke, Kenji Endo, Emily Reif, Nellie Robinson.
The goal of this project was to create an interactive, art-directable approach to volumetric lighting, using a progressive photon beam method. This project was implemented using techniques from two papers, "Progressive Photon Beams" (Wojciech Jarosz et al., SIGGRAPH Asia, 2011) and "A Programmable System for Artistic Volumetric Lighting" (Derek Nowrouzezahrai et al., ACM SIGGRAPH, 2011).
Written in C++ and GLSL with OpenGL, G3D, and QtCreator.
